Confirm the guide-pin geometry

Two pins from the same kit may not be identical. One can include a reduced section, rubber bushing, different head or different working length. Record each pin separately.

  • Overall and working length
  • Pin outside diameter
  • Stepped or reduced section
  • Head and tool design
  • Boot-seat position
  • Bushing groove or insert

Check the boots and rubber components

The boot must seat correctly on both the caliper or bracket and the guide pin. Material and profile should match the operating environment and approved sample.

  • Large-end and small-end diameter
  • Number and shape of bellows
  • Retaining lip profile
  • Bushing or damping sleeve
  • Protective caps
  • Visual condition after assembly

Verify bolts, threads and surface treatment

Confirm thread diameter, pitch, effective length and shoulder details. If thread-lock coating is required, specify its position and acceptance standard. Surface treatment should be agreed according to corrosion and appearance requirements.

Approve the complete kit—not only the pins

A quotation should state the quantity of pins, boots, bolts, bushings, caps and grease pouches. Product photos help, but the approved sample and packing specification should control final supply.
